What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

On the fifteenth of Av (August 7) a season of new beginnings opened up for those who are willing to be led by the Holy Spirit. The good news is that many will experience new starts in business, relationships and ministries. A season of prosperity has opened us for us and many will see amazing provision coming supernaturally from the Lord. That is the good news. The bad news is that the enemy has also opened a new season of oppression to block what the Lord is doing in your life, family and ministry. Someone close to you may try to control you in order to keep you from moving forward in the Lord’s plan and purpose for you. This is a Jezebel spirit and you must resist it with the help of the Holy Spirit. Do not get into fear, anger or violence. You will resist and overcome this spirit by standing strong in your faith and commitment to the Lord.

Revelation 12:10-12, “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

Others close to you will try to tempt you into compromising to the desires of your flesh. You must also resist this spirit of Balaam. Remember the teaching in Jude 1:11, “Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.” We must resist the temptation to follow these oppressive spirits. Claim again the promise of James 4:7, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Do not be afraid! You have the Holy Spirit to stand strong with you. Also continue to pray for increased gifts of discerning the spirits.

So how do we deal with these oppressive spirits? We are called to do more that resist these spirits. We are called to pray for those who are being misled by the enemy – the same ones who are trying to lead us away from the Spirit into the flesh. It is the way of Yeshua ha Messiach! We pray for those who want to misuse and abuse us. I was led to Jude 1:22-15, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.”
