What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

The presence of the Lord was so strong in our worship room this morning that I had difficulty standing. His glorious presence was like a field of energy, power, glory, grace and love covering me and flowing through me at the same time. As I lay down in His presence I began to have another series of visions with recurring themes. The first theme concerned entering His rest. He is providing everything we need to rest in Him. I saw something like a sale on sleep-ware sets. After this, I saw people eating. An abundance of different types of foods were being prepared and served. As people ate, I saw visions of people being tempted to the things of the flesh. This seemed so out of place. My thoughts were led by the Spirit to Isaiah 55:1-2, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.” How many people today are spending their wages on things which do not satisfy the real needs of the soul? How many are spending their resources on the temporary pleasures of the flesh and missing out on the eternal rest offered by the Lord.

Similar visions came again and the three themes of rest, refreshing and temptations were repeated. The Spirit led me to Hebrews 4:11-12, “Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” I was praying for others “…lest anyone fall according to the same example (the Children of Israel in the wilderness being led astray by the spirit of Balaam) of disobedience.” The Lord has always provided a way for us. We will not be tempted beyond what we can endure. He will always provide a way of escape. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit which we need to use today to discern “…the thoughts and intents of the heart.” May the intercessors join in praying for the lost and those in the Body of Christ under temptation today!

I thought it unusual that the Lord would talk about rest on Monday. I usually think of this as a Shabbat theme. Suddenly I was filled with gratitude. On the day least associated with rest, the Lord is offering it to us. I like to call this “Monday Mercies.” The Lord is good! His love and mercy endure forever. Perhaps you need rest on this Monday. Perhaps you need some living water today. Perhaps you need to hear the invitation again to come to the water and drink freely the only thing which can truly satisfy the deep desires of your heart. None of these things come from the world or worldly pleasures. They are the gifts of the Lord freely given to those who come and ask. Remember the promise in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” May you find His rest, His refreshing and His door of escape from every temptation of the flesh! This I pray in the mighty name of Yeshua ha Messiach! Amen and Amen!
