Yom Kippur RevelationsBy Pastor James Durham

Yom Kippur 5778

Shabbat – 9/30/2017

Just after sundown we had a combined Shabbat and Yom Kippur service with music, worship, and the reading of the Torah and several Psalms. After the service, I covered myself with my tallit and began to pray. I asked the Lord what I should call the year 5778. His answer was “The Year of Opportunities.” I thought about Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Always remember that every opportunity comes with a responsibility to use the gifts and graces of the Lord to comfort, build up and strengthen others.

As I reflected on this word, I asked the Lord about open doors and heard that windows of opportunity will be opened this year for all Holy Spirit led people. I thought about Malachi 3:10, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” Faithful believers who have a proper fear (holy awe) of the Lord and are filled with a desire to serve Him will experience many great opportunities under these open windows of Heaven. When the windows of heaven open, the flow is beyond what we can contain or control. Are you ready for it?

After this word, I received an amazing vision. I saw a man standing on what looked like a very large pipe or huge tank floating in the ocean. The tank sat deep in the water and waves were lapping up all around, but the man was not deterred by his circumstances. He was standing erect with his chin thrust out and his eyes fixed on something in the distance. Several words came to me describing his stance; confident, assured, fearless, determined, resilient and strong. He was a person who would always remain standing regardless of his circumstances. I was reminded of what Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”  This is the Lord’s calling for each of us this year. Get your eyes off of your circumstance and let them be focused on the Lord and His plan for your life. Take your stand and when you have done all continue to stand for Him and for the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Remember the directions given in Hebrews 12:2-3, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Then I received another vision. I saw a powerful sunrise in the midst of great darkness. Storm clouds had darkened the night sky. This spoke to me of the season of darkness we are in now as the wisdom of the world continues to lead people into delusion, confusion and despair. False teachers and false prophets abound in our world today and they are causing a great darkness to fall over the minds and spirits of many people. Remember what Peter wrote in 2 Peter 2:1-3, “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.” It is time to pray to the Holy Spirit (Spirit of truth) to guide you in all truth so that you will not be caught up in the delusion. Rmember what Jesus said in Mark 13:22-23, “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—ifthatwerepossible. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.”

Here is a powerful word of caution for you in this season: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” (1 John 4:1-3) Don’t be deceived by these false teachers and false prophets. Stay alert and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Remember what Paul said in Romans 11:8, “Just as it is written: ‘God has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.’”

I pray that you will receive now this word of assurance: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:4-6)

As I looked at the sunrise in the vision, I was filled with hope and looked for His hope to break through the darkness of this age. Suddenly, I heard the Lord declare, “April sings.” I don’t know exactly what this means. I believe this April is the name of a person rather than the name of a month. Someone named April is about to break out in song after receiving a powerful spiritual breakthrough. If your name is not “April,” it is okay. You may also receive it and break out in song. Claim it for yourself right now! Then celebrate as in Psalm 101:1-2, “I will sing of mercy and justice; to You, O Lord, I will sing praises. I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.”

As I continued to look at the vision of a beautiful sunrise breaking out more and more across the horizon, I heard the Lord ask: “Would you like to ride on the light of the dawn?” I quickly agreed and was lifted up on the light and travel in the spirit across a beautiful land covered with green grass and green trees. This vision spoke to me of a season of prosperity which will bless many in spirit, soul and body. As I thought about this, I was lifted up into the Lord’s presence. He was serving the Lord’s Supper to all who had gathered to be with Him on this Yom Kippur. To me this was an amazing promise and prophetic word about being drawn into a greater intimacy with the Lord. This word is for all those who are committed to the Lord and who desire a closer walk with Him in this season.

I became very tired at this point and went downstairs from the Worship Room to my bedroom. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 11:40 p.m. The room was dark and my eyes were closed when I suddenly saw an extremely bright flash like the old flashbulbs we used in the past. This sudden flash startled me and I opened my spiritual eyes looking for a vision from the Lord. In the vision, I was looking up into the night sky and saw the stars of the Big Dipper. As I watched a blue line of light began to outline the shape of this constellation. When it was completely outlined the dipper portion began to take shape as a cup of pure gold. The cup was tilted toward the earth and fresh oil from heaven was being poured out on all the people of the Lord. I thought about Psalm 92:10, “But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.” The Lord is releasing an oil of anointing in this season. Are you ready to receive it?

Then I understood that this was also an outpouring of the oil of joy. Psalm 45:7, “You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” This will be a special blessing to those who have gone through a season of darkness, grief and loss. Releasing this anointing is one of the special characteristics of the work of Messiah prophesied in Isaiah 61:3, “To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” The “oil of joy” is being released to build us up and strengthen us for the tasks ahead in the new season of light and opportunity.

I also understood that the oil pouring out from Heaven is for healing. Perhaps you need healing in spirit, soul or body in this season. A special anointing is being release for you to receive what you need. Remember the spiritual directions given in James 5:13-15, “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” Oil is being poured out for our healing and for us to use as we minister healing to others.

Eventually I fell asleep and was blessed with many very pleasant dreams which I believe had a prophetic message for this season. In each dream a common theme was predominant: togetherness and unity. I understood from the Holy Spirit that those who commit themselves to live in togetherness and unity regardless of their circumstances will be amazingly and wonderfully blessed in this season. It is time to get our eyes off of our circumstances and focused on what the Lord is doing for and through us. There is great power in agreement. Remember the promise of Yeshua in Matthew 18:19-20, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” The key to unlocking these promises is togetherness and unity.

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” (Ephesians 4:1-8)

Early in the morning, I returned to the Worship Room and spent time in praise and worship. I got under my tallit again and waited on the Lord. I suddenly received a powerful vision of a great eagle coming down from high above. It landed on a rock just in front of me and spread out its massive wings, locked its talons on a large stone, and began to release powerful screams. Its wings were huge and appeared to be extremely powerful. I understood that this eagle represented godly wisdom coming as a powerful gift from the Lord for all who are willing to walk in His wisdom during this season. It also represents a promise of fruitfulness as in Ezekiel 17:7-8, “But there was another great eagle with large wings and many feathers; and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and stretched its branches toward him, from the garden terrace where it had been planted, that he might water it. It was planted in good soil by many waters, to bring forth branches, bear fruit, and become a majestic vine.” The people who received this word from Ezekiel were not faithful to the Lord and did not have the opportunity to enjoy the fruit. As we have gone through a season of repentance leading up to Yom Kippur, we are spiritually ready to receive and enjoy the fruit being released by the Lord.

At this point, the music playing in the Worship Room was “Here is Love Vast as the Ocean.” It was being sung in Welsh. This was a great favorite during the Welsh Revival. As I listened to this powerful song of revival, I was given a vision of a great fire roaring and rising high above the ground. I was celebrating the coming of revival fires once again. I prayed for another great awakening to come with the fire and revival of the Holy Spirit. Suddenly a great wind blew against the fire as if to extinguish it. I believe the enemy is working hard in this season to prevent the beginning of the great end time revival which will signal his end. In spite of this great wind, the fire was not extinguished. As I watched, it rose above the wind and overcame all resistance to its success. The words of Psalm 85:4-7 came to me, “Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease. Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation.” I began to cry out for revival with greater intensity. We are in desperate need of a revival and another great awakening to overcome the pervasive darkness and delusion of this age.

Suddenly, I had another vision. I saw a massive volcanic eruption. Fire and lava was blasted from the top of a mountain and went several hundred feet in the air. Two thoughts came to mind: 1. Mount Pinatubo (an active volcano) in the Philippines and 2. Mount Baekdu-san (an active volcano) in North Korea which is considered to be a holy mountain. This volcanic mount also borders on China. I heard the Lord declare “Signs of the Times!” I wondered if this was about something in the natural or in the spiritual realm (or perhaps both). As I pondered what this could mean, I heard the Lord say, “They are raining fire on themselves.” I thought of what Yeshua said in Luke 17:28-29, “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.” In these places, people who dishonor the Lord, worship false gods and persecute their own people are bringing judgment on themselves. Tragically, they are releasing these powerful destructive forces upon themselves and their people. The time for repentance is getting very short. I prayed for the leaders of many nations to be overcome by the Wisdom of the Lord, come to their senses and stop their terrible spiral downward to destruction. Only the Lord can break through the hardness of many hearts in this age.

I didn’t sleep much last night so I took an afternoon nap. I had several dreams and visions about preparing for travel (ministry trips). We were going to several different shops and businesses making preparations for the trips: haircuts for men, hair salons for women, and stores filled with needed supplies. Our daughter who lives in another state was with us during this time of spiritual preparation. In each vision, I saw treasure chests. One was obviously a huge antique trunk with a rounded lid. It was very large, but we were able to easily carry it. Somehow it seemed to be a version of the Ark of the Covenant symbolizing the presence and power of the Lord traveling with us. There were also trunks and chests filled with spiritual treasures and resources needed for ministry. These visions were speaking again about opportunities which will be available during this year. In this case opportunities for travel, ministry and resourcing. I thought: “The Lord is good. His love and mercy endure forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34, Psalm 118:1, Psalm 107:1 and many other similar verses) Think about it! Believe it and receive it. He plans to do good for you! You are blessed to be a blessing. The more you bless others the more the Lord will trust you with greater things.

Remember the promise in James 1:17-18, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.”

Back in the Worship Room covered in my tallit, I received more visions. I saw the High Priest (Yeshua ha Messiach) enter the Holy of Holies carrying a golden bowl filled with powder blue incense as an offering to the Lord. I remembered the words in Revelation 8:4, “And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.” The High Priest was presenting our prayers of repentance and dedication as an offering before the Lord. The light of the Glory of the Lord was shining on the face of our High Priest. An angel of the Lord was present and He asked if the offering was acceptable. I didn’t hear an answer, but saw a window in Heaven open to reveal a huge golden scroll which was also glowing with the Glory of the Lord. On this scroll (book of life) I saw many names written. This was the confirmation that our prayers have been accepted by the Lord. Leviticus 23:28, “And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.”

Hebrews 9:11-15, “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”

As the High Priest backed out through the thin veil of the Holy of Holies, a giant wooden door was revealed. The door had five locks and a key was in each. The High Priest began to unlock each one. Five is the prophetic number of “grace.” I realized that when the offering was accepted by the Lord, He began unlocking a huge door of grace in Heaven. It is now open for each of the Lord’s faithful people. I remembered Acts 4:33, “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” Are you ready for a season of great spiritual power and great grace? The next verse from Acts 4 begins with this summary, “Nor was there anyone among them who lacked;” We are entering the season of no lack. Are you ready to receive it?

Another open vision came. I was standing in a huge cavern with a ceiling about 100 feet high. Across from me were stone steps leading up to another smaller cavern which was very dark inside. I thought about the description in Psalm 18:11, “He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.” This is an invitation for the Lord’s people to visit Him in the “secret place.” It is an invitation to spend a time of intimacy in the presence of the Lord. Are you ready for it? I thought about the great and beautiful promise in Psalm 31:19-20, “Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” Are you ready to spend some time in the “secret place” of the Lord?

I began to slowly and cautiously make my way across the dimly lit space and to climb the equally dimly lit stone steps to the “Secret Place.” At the top of the steps, I dropped to my knees with my face bowed to the stone floor. I was in deep and holy awe of the Lord. Suddenly, my head got very hot. The fire of the Lord was cleansing my hands, heart and soul so that I could be made ready to be in the Lord’s presence. It was like an answer to the questions raised in Psalm 24:3-6, “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.” The fire continued to burn and I was so thankful to the Lord for this amazing gift. It is for you also if you are truly seeking His face.

Outside the cavern people were very busy as each received fresh supplies for their lives and their ministries. Many fuel cans were being filled. These supplies and the fuel tanks represent gifts from the Lord of new energy, strength, and health so we can complete our purpose in the Kingdom. I am praying for you the prayer in Hebrews 13:20-21, “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen

Just as Yom Kippur was coming to a close, the Lord gave me two more visions for this season. In the first vision, I saw giant sunflowers which seemed to be straining to reach higher in order to receive more of the glory of the sun. The pods of the sunflowers were huge as if they had grown large seeking after more of the light from heaven. I received this as a prophetic word calling us to reach higher and higher seeking more of the light of His glory so that it can heal, renew, refresh and equip us for the mission of the Lord. Then it will radiate out through us to bless others. Are you seeking more from the Lord? Are you following Paul’s advice in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” This is a year of opportunities and faith filled followers are pressing in to receive more of what the Lord is releasing. I thought about the words of Psalm 115:13-15, “He will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great. May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”

In the second vision, I was standing in a room or cave filled with uncut and unpolished gemstones. I knew this was about the storehouse of the Lord and the riches available to those who believe in Him. My eyes were drawn toward one huge purple gemstone in its raw natural state. This huge stone was located in the center of the room. Many gems can be produced from this one stone. I thought about the color purple as the color of royalty and understood that this was speaking of the presence of King Yeshua in the center of our existence. Several stones are purple in color. I understood that this huge stone represented two of them which are also included in both the Breastplate of the High Priest and the foundations of the New Jerusalem. Chalcedony will be the third level of the foundation of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:19) and Amethyst the twelve level (Revelation 21:20). The numbers 3 and 12 have powerful prophetic meaning. The three speaks of Father, Son and Holy Spirit as well as our spirit, soul and body. The twelve speaks of Kingdom governance. The year 5778 will be a year of closeness to the Lord in which He will provide all that is needed for us to move in the authority of the Lord for Kingdom governance.

Windows of opportunity have opened for us in the Spiritual realm. It is time to open our spiritual eyes to see, our spiritual ears to hear and our spirits to perceive what the Lord is releasing and doing in this new season of light and opportunity. Don’t miss the open windows. Seek Him with all your heart. Do not focus on your circumstances. Do not grow weary or give up. It is not the time to quit, but to experience new beginnings. It is time to stand under the windows of opportunity and receive the blessing flow of the Lord.

My prayer for you in this season is from Colossians 1:9-14, “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” These things I pray for you in the mighty name of Yeshua ha Messiach! Amen and Amen!!!
