What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

This morning I saw the face of the Lord in Heaven. His faced looked very much like the image on the Shroud of Turin. I was touched by the look of sadness on His face. Then I was given a vision in which I saw the Lord’s people backing up out of the fear of people. They backed up over some things of great value and even some people as they tried to get away from what they feared in front of them. The thought which came to my mind was from Psalm 78:9-11, “The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They did not keep the covenant of God; they refused to walk in His law, and forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them.” I felt the sadness of the Lord over people who are ruled by fear and fail to stand with Him.

This is not the time to fail the Lord because of fear in our hearts. Remember what Paul taught in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” We must not hide from the threats of those controlled by the enemy. We must not cower in the face of foreign or domestic terrorists. We must not fail to stand with the Lord when others oppose our faith and our beliefs.  Remember what Jesus said in Mark 8:38, “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” This is the day to take a strong stand for the Lord. Every day is an appropriate time to make our loyalties and faith well known in our generation.

The Spirit reminded me of what is said of cowards in the Book of Revelation. They are the first to go into the lake of fire. Their failure seems to be greater than those listed further down the list: “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:7-8) As Paul would say, “When you have done everything to stand – continue to stand for the Lord! Amen?
