What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

This morning the Lord gave me several visions as messages for all His people in these last days. I began by meditating on the Bible verses calling for revival. Psalm 85:6 (Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?) was the key scripture in the revivals of Charles Finney. I was also looking at Psalm 80:18 and Hosea 6:2. These were passages calling for the revival of all the Lord’s people. In addition, there are many prayers for personal revival in Psalm 119 (9 times), Psalm 71:20, Psalm 138:7 and Psalm 143:11. I was crying out to the Lord for revival for you and for me this morning.

Suddenly I was in the Lord’s presence and He handed me a box of shoes which I thought were new, however as I opened the box I found a very old pair of shoes. They were the style my father wore when I was a young child. Their color was almost completely worn off the toes and a dent or hole was in the middle of the left toe. As I sought understanding I heard the Lord say, “It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” (Acts 9:5c) I asked the Lord to reveal to me and to you where He sees us kicking against the goads in our lives and ministries. These are the things which block a movement of the Lord. In other words, these are the things we may be doing which hinder or block revival. I am calling on everyone to pray and ask the Lord to reveal everything we need to change or give up which is hindering the advent of another great awakening. I am so hungry for revival that I want to do whatever it takes to open the way for Him to move in my life. How about you?

Suddenly the vision shifted and I was standing in front of a house in the style of the 1950s. It looked new as if I had gone back in time to see something for the future. I sought understanding and the Spirit revealed that we need to revive the Biblical World view and values which were strong in the season of the “Voice of Healing Revivals.” I have been appalled by the loss of values and integrity in our nation and in the nations of the world. It seems that we are repeating the mistakes of the first part of the last century leading up to two world wars and the horror of the holocaust. My heart became more hungry and thirsty for another great awakening. I want to always be ready to change in whatever way the Lord desires. I pray that we will help to establish an environment for revival. Can you feel it?

As I was beginning to understand this, the vision shifted again. I was on a bicycle riding uphill as I pulled a large bed on a trailer. Wow! That is a physical challenge. At first I saw people who seemed to be pushing to help me make it up the hill. Then they stopped pushing and jumped on the bed for a free ride. Now, it was almost impossible to peddle the bicycle up the hill. I thought about the “rest of the Lord” which seemed to be behind me, but felt an inward compulsion to make it all the way up the hill. I then understood that this is not the season to rest or to look for a free ride at someone else’s expense. We need to be doing our part – pulling our own weight and controlling the burdens which hinder our ability to move with the Lord.

At this point the vision shifted again. We were moving. I thought about how difficult that will be because we have accumulated so much stuff. I began to think of ways to lighten the load so that we can move when the Lord commands. Suddenly, I was at a home in the mountains and we were moving in. It was a relief to have all of our belongings moved. The task of getting settled in suddenly seemed like a joy. I pondered this for some time. I don’t know if this is a move we need to make in the natural or in the spiritual. Perhaps it is both. As I stood in the Lord’s presence in Heaven, none of the stuff I was trying to move seemed important. The only thing important was being with Him. Are you ready to move with the Lord?

I thought about the Children of Israel moving at the Lord’s command. At times they moved after getting settle for one or two days. You have to know how to move to be able to accomplish this. Lord teach us how to move with you! Teach us what we need to let go so that we can break free from our burdens and move with you! I am praying in the mighty name of Yeshua ha Messiach for the wisdom and understanding to do what the Lord is calling me to do. I am also praying for you. Amen and Amen!
