Prophetic Word for 2019By Pastor James Durham

2019 Prophetic Word

It is our custom to close each year by attending a new year’s conference which is as you would expect also an end of year conference. These conferences always point us to the possibility of new beginnings. They are times to close out the old and welcome the new year of the Lord. Each year the Lord gives me a wonderful download about His plans for the coming year. One important thing to note is that the fulfillment or manifestation of each of His promises is always dependent upon our obedience. The good promises of blessing and favor are reserved for those who faithfully follow Him and the judgments are for those who refuse to live by faith as they choose to live for the world and or the flesh.

Near the end of 2018, I received several messages from the Lord about people who will soon reap in judgment what they have sown to the flesh. As a result, I was expecting to hear a great deal about various types of judgment which will be coming on the disobedient in 2019. I had sort of “braced myself” for the worst. Have you ever done that? I was pleasantly surprised at how positive these messages from the Lord were about His plans for this year. Then I remembered that I had also received several messages from the Lord at the end of 2018 about how He would protect and provide for those who are obediently following Him. I was reminded once more that the Lord desires good things for His children. This always His primary plan.

The flow of messages began at the end of Shabbat on the Evening of 29 December. In the first vision, I started to hear the sound of bubbling and flowing water. This was the beginning of something new for me. I usually see first and then hear from the Lord as I seek understanding. For several days, I heard first and only saw the visions after praying for understanding. This also happened during my individual ministry times with several people at the conference. I understood this to be a Word from the Lord about a shift in the spiritual realm and the release of something new in our spiritual gifting. I encourage you to seek and be open to the new things of the Lord which will manifest in 2019.

As I continued to listen to the babbling brook, light began to flow in and dispel the darkness I was seeing. As this progressed, I began to see more clearly the most beautiful flow of clear, clean and pure water. The water was more pure than any I have experienced in the past. The water was bubbling up from a spring located high up in the mountains and was flowing down toward the valley far below.  Everything around the flow of water was alive and green with fresh growth. It was cool and refreshing. I knew at once that I was seeing a spring of living water. My heart swelled with joy upon seeing and hearing this promise of living water pouring out for you and for me.

It began to soak into my spirit that because it was high up in the mountains, people will need to climb high and press in to receive it. If you want this flow of living water you must be willing to climb to new heights to receive it. The Holy Spirit began to reveal to me that many people will not be willing to invest what it takes to position themselves to draw from the source of this living water. Suddenly, I understood that the living water is found in the presence of the Lord and our real invitation is to get into a deeper relationship with Him. When we do this the living water will flow into and through us.

I thought about the promise in John 7:37-39a, “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of livingwater.’ But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive;” Are you ready for a powerful flow of the Holy Spirit in your life and ministry? Now is the time to position yourself to receive it. Are you ready to climb to new heights and press in to new depths to receive the promises of the Lord?

In the vision, I was being carried by the Holy Spirit to the bottom of the mountain to begin my own journey to the source of all these good things. I thought about the promise in 1 John 1:16-18, “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.” I want to embrace the promise of receiving these good gifts and perfect gifts from above. How about you? I started to prepare myself for a difficult climb.

As I moved upward a few feet, I heard the Lord saying “There is an elevation.” A wave of understand flowed into me. This elevation being offered is like an elevator which can lift those who are willing to begin to climb. Once again, it is not about what we do, but about what He has already done for us if we are willing to receive it. Are you ready and willing to be elevated into the presence of the Lord to receive this great outpouring? At this point in the vision, I became aware that many people will try to get there by their own works rather than receiving the free gift being offered by the Lord. You will not be able to attain it by your good works or your acts of righteousness. There is only one source and that is the grace of our Lord Yeshua ha Messiach. Amen?

Suddenly, I sensed the presence of the Spirit of Holiness as I received another promise available to us in this season. The promise being released by the Lord is for great spiritual power to be available to those who are following close to Him in 2019. My thoughts went immediately to what Paul wrote about the Spirit of Holiness in Romans 1:4, “…and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.” The Spirit of holiness carries resurrection power. It also empowers us with the ability to help others receive Yeshua ha Messiach as the “Son of God.” This is the season to help the lost to find salvation for their souls. This is the beginning of a new season of harvest. Are you ready for it?

Sunday morning, 30 Dec 2018

Early in the morning on December 30, 2018, I heard a voice speaking to me in the darkness. The voice said with great authority, “I hear a crunching sound.” At that moment, I was not hearing anything in the natural or spiritual realm. As I pondered this message from the Lord, I began to see words scrolling past my eyes like a banner in a video or the streamer behind airplanes which pull messages through the sky. As the message became clear, I saw the words, “I hear a crunching sound.” being revealed in the darkness. This second kind of revelation knowledge was being given as a confirmation of what I heard a few moments before.

Then I received a third confirmation of this message. I began to hear the sound of crunching for myself. As I turned in the direction of the sound, I saw some kind of machine which was grinding things with great power. The blades of the grinder looked like large round gears meshing with gears from the opposite direction. Many of these gears seemed to be welded together in two large elements working together to grind everything which was caught in their powerful teeth. At first this vision seemed very negative. I thought about things which might be lost and things which may soon be crushed and destroyed. I sensed the possibility of great loss in the new season. Thankfully this was not what the Lord meant by this vision.

The Lord began to clarify it for me. He is ready to grind up the things which we should not carry into this year. The question is whether we will be willing to let go of them and let the Lord take them away. Many people are holding on to old hurts, past failures and major mistakes as if waiting for some kind of justice to be meted out to those who have hurt or offended them. This is not the Lord’s plan. He plans to give good gifts and perfect gifts. The crunching and crushing is intended to release spiritual freedom for those oppressed by their past (curses, confusion, mistakes, omissions, sins). This may not sound like good news for those who want to hold on to these things from their past. Some are holding on and carrying heavy burdens as if they are doing something holy or wearing some type of badge of honor. There is nothing honorable or holy about holding on to the trash of the past. Let it go and move forward to greater things with the Lord! Amen?

As I turned away from the grinding machine in this vision I had a feeling of release. I felt refreshed and renewed. It was as if I had turned toward the future free from these old burdens. I felt prepared now to receive the good and perfect gifts of the Lord which will manifest in 2019. It was very liberating. I pray you will also experience the joy, freedom, release and renewal of letting go and letting the Lord crush the things which are holding you back in the spiritual realm. Remember and receive the Lord’s promise in John 8:36, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be freeindeed.”

At this point, the Lord lifted me out of the visions for a brief moment and directed my attention toward a young woman standing nearby in the bookstore. I closed my eyes again and the Lord gave me a very disturbing vision. In the vision, I saw this woman and some other young people in grave danger. I received a prophetic message about terrible things in their future at the hands of evil people. There will be great pain from physical, mental and spiritual attacks on many people this year. I know many will not want to hear this, because I didn’t want to receive it. Some of these beautiful young souls will even be mutilated by extremely evil people. I began to pray for them in both the natural and in the spiritual. I pressed in for them to be released from these things and for these curses to be broken off of them. I continued to pray until I felt a spiritual release from this time of intercession. This year those with a calling to be intercessors need to be praying intently for those who may be victims of evil people. Will you be one of those intercessors?

Then the Lord gave a powerful instruction. We must not judge, criticize and stifle the Spirit of the Lord in the lives of these young people. 2019 is a season to bless, encourage and equip young people to be disciples in the Kingdom. We often associate harm coming to them as something from very evil people. The truth is that many will be hurt by well-meaning but misguided people who are attempting to help them. Word curses can be released by those who think they are blessing others. Only the Holy Spirit can guide our words and thoughts to release the correct messages to them. I am praying for a great outpouring of the spiritual gift of discernment for each of us. We must be certain that what we do and say will bring encouragement, blessing and equipping into the lives of others. We must be careful to provide love and support in this season.

There is great power in the words of anointed people. Think about what the Lord said to Jeremiah, “Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: ‘Because you speak this word, behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.’” (Jeremiah 5:14) How are you using the fire and the power of God in your own life? Now is the time to seek discernment and watch what we are releasing into the lives of others. Ask the Lord for help. He is our source for wisdom, knowledge and power.

Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. (Daniel 2:20-22)

With the messages in these visions, I had a lot to ponder, but I soon learned that the experience was not over. I went into another vision in which I saw a vast number of young people walking toward a great crowd of adults of various ages. I then understood from the Holy Spirit what was happening. People we have mentored in the past who broke away for a season are returning like prodigal sons and daughters. In the vision, each person was moving intentionally toward spiritual mothers and fathers they had left behind much sooner that they should. Begin to expect prodigals to return to you in this season. It will take great wisdom, forgiveness and faith to welcome back those who have rejected your mentoring and violated your trust, but you must do it.

The Lord made it very clear that this is a spiritual challenge for many and we will be evaluated by our responses. We must not reject those coming back to us in 2019. This is of the Lord. Remember His promise given in Malachi 4:6 (NIV), “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” I don’t want to receive the Lord’s “or else.” How about you?  I don’t want to see another curse on the land. I want to see the flow of living water rushing down the mountain and watering the valley. It is like the promise in Ezekiel 36 and 37. The bones in the valley are very dry. The prophetic words released in Ezekiel 36 led to the outcome in chapter 37. Living water can and will bring many dry bones back to new life in this season if we are faithful to obey the Lord’s leading. Amen?

Monday, December 31, 2018

This morning the Lord gave me a very pleasant and beautiful vision. In fact, I received it twice. This always means that I am to release it to others. In the vision, I was sitting in a medium sized white gazebo. I felt the great Shalom of the Lord all around me and inside me. I began to think of this place as the Gazebo of Shalom. Perhaps you need to spend some time in the Gazebo of Shalom right now. I believe that something wonderful is available to us today and every day. The Shalom of the Lord is the peace which passes understanding. It is the source of calm in the storm and comfort in times of pain and loss.

Both times when I was sitting in the gazebo, I saw myself surrounded by things we don’t associate with shalom, but I felt it anyway. I saw myself surrounded by deep darkness, thick fog and drizzling rain. Sitting in the gazebo, I noticed that there was an open area surrounding me which separated me from the dangerous things in the world. This protective zone was free from darkness, fog and rain. It was like a large comfort zone. I was in a place of safety and protection and it felt so good. This is a message for you. The Lord is your provider and protector no matter what your circumstances may look like right now. Now is the time to receive it by faith. Remember: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)  Don’t look at your circumstances and open yourself up to a spirit of fear. This is not the Lord’s plan for you now or every. Remember 1 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

When you seem to be in deep darkness, go into your gazebo of shalom. When it seems that everything is in a dense fog and you can’t see a way out, go into your gazebo of shalom. When it seems that sorrow, pain, hurt and loss are falling on you like rain, get into the Lord’s gazebo of shalom and let Him take care of it for you. Remember the promise in Psalm 55:22, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” As I said above, I received this vision twice. I believe it is fixed and certain. It is time to enter His rest:

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:11-16)

I believe that everything I received from the Lord is as much for you as it is for me. It is a matter of trusting Him and being willing to receive it. Are you ready for the best year of your life? Are you ready to be covered and filled by living water? Are you ready to let this living water flow into the lives of others so they can be blessed of the Lord? Are you ready for a new beginning filled with blessing and favor? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, this is for you. Amen and Amen!
