What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

In a vision, I was carried by the Spirit to somewhere in an Ocean. I appeared to be standing on something just above the angry roaring waves of a powerful storm. The waves were huge; several hundred feet in height. Then I saw a small boat caught in the waves. It was near the bottom between huge waves. I sensed a feeling of hopelessness coming from the crew of the small boat. They were being tossed to and fro with no ability to control their movement. It occurred to me how limited we are against the forces of nature. I remember my many visits to the ocean when we lived in New Jersey. I often meditated on the shore about the power of God and how powerless we are in comparison. Then a great sense of gratitude came over me in the knowledge that He is for us and not against us. He can protect us from the greatest forces in the both the natural and spiritual realms. I am so thankful for Yeshua and the Holy Spirit sent by our Father in Heaven to watch over us.

Suddenly the scene changed, I was carried by the Spirit to a very different place. In this vision I was standing on a very flat place in a vast desert area. I could see one man standing alone several hundred feet from where I stood. Suddenly an extremely powerful desert storm arose and swept the man away in a swirling mass of sand. It occurred to me that this was the same message as I received in the first vision. We are powerless in the face of the forces in the natural realm. We are hopeless before that kind of power unless the Lord is with us.

Once again the scene shifted as I was carried by the Spirit to another place. I saw some men standing at a distance when suddenly they were caught up in a massive burst of fire. They seemed to be incinerated instantly by the sudden burst of fire. This message of this vision appeared to be similar to the first two. I thought again about our powerlessness in the face of fire. As I thought about it, I was reminded that the three greatest sources of natural power in the world are water, wind and fire. Without the Lord, we are powerless and many of our situations can appear to be hopeless. Thank God we are not without the power of God. I thought about three young Hebrew men cast into a furnace of fire when the fire had no power over them because the Lord was in it.

Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” (Daniel 3:24-25)

I am so thankful that Father God has not left us alone and powerless in the world. He sent Yeshua ha Messiach and the Holy Spirit to bless, protect and provide for us. I want to shout “Hallelujah!” over and over as I praise Him for these amazing and wonderful gifts. Death no longer has a victory for those who are in Yeshua. As He said in John 11:25-26, “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” Don’t doubt Him. Put your eternal trust in Him!
