What Heaven is Saying TodayBy Pastor James Durham

At sundown tonight, it will be New Year’s Eve based on the Biblical New Year. This New Year was decreed by the Lord as recorded in Exodus chapter twelve. The New Year associated with Sukkot was instituted by the rabbinical authority after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. That day was originally instituted by the Lord as Yom Teruah (a Day of blowing trumpets). Without the Temple they didn’t know how to celebrate this appointed time of the Lord. Therefore, they created Rosh Hashanah to give joy and celebration to this day. The gentile world established other days and called them the first day of the New Year. But this is the New Year established by the Lord.

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. (Exodus 121-3)

They had a temporary solution through the blood of their lambs. “And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. (Exodus 12:7) We have a permanent solution through the blood of Yeshua, the Lamb of God. “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’” (John 1:29) The blood of the Lamb of God is our covering and our protection.

For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. (Exodus 12:12-13)

This year, the Lord told me to focus on His Biblical New Year. The Lord did not make a temporary plan when He commanded that this month was to be the first month of the year for the children of Israel. He made it an eternal appointed time as recorded in Exodus twelve. “So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.” (Exodus 12:14) Think about it. It is an “everlasting ordinance.” At sundown on March 25, 2020 it is the Lord’s appointed time to celebrate the New Year. It is a time of new beginnings. The things of the old season go away and we joyfully release them. Now is the time to joyfully embrace the new season which will be free from the pestilence of the old season. I believe the Lord is saying that this pandemic is subject to Him and it will go away very soon.

This is the month of the Pesach (Passover) celebration. This year is unique in that Resurrection Sunday occurs right in the middle of Pesach. This is a message for all believers. The word from the Lord is very good news. Things will dramatically change in this New Year. I believe the world will calm down in this timeframe. Panic shopping and hoarding will come to an end, and many people will just forget about it for now. This is the wrong response. The Lord has given us a warning. Now is the time to prepare mentally, physically and spiritually. Don’t forget. PREPARE! Be much better when the greater thing comes. This is our wakeup call! Can you hear it?
