This morning the Spirit took me to a large room with walls which seemed more like clouds than any natural substance. In the center of the room was a very large set of scales. One by one, people were being led to the scales. Each then stepped up on the scales and waited for the response. For some the response was, “You have been weighed in the balance and found lacking!” My thoughts went immediately to Daniel 5:24-28, “Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written. ‘And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of each word. Mene: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; Tekel: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; Peres: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.’” It has always amazed me that King Belshazzar gave Daniel a reward for this interpretation of the writing on the wall. Why would a message like this be reward? It was rewarded because it was the truth.
Now for the rest of the story: “That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was slain. And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.” Today I received a word the Lord has been giving over and over in the past few months. A time has come when certain people will be weighed in the balance and when they are found lacking they will be removed from their position in the kingdom. This is a hard saying and some people may have difficulty receiving it. Belshazzar understood it and seemed to think that rewarding Daniel would be enough. There is no account given of his repentance or of a prayer to be saved from the judgment to come. Was his heart that hard? Are there people around us whose hearts have become too hard to repent and return to their first love? What about our hearts? This morning, about 2/3 of the people I saw were found lacking in spiritual character, but I did not see even one of them go to their knees in repentance.
As each person came off the scales, they were led to a room which was their part of the storehouse of heaven. Each door had a combination lock. Those who were found lacking lifted the lock but the digital display for the combination was completely blank. They were no longer able to open the storehouse. They were no longer able to receive from their source in Heaven. On the other hand, those who were not found lacking had easy access to their part of the storehouse.
At this point, I questioned whether to send this out today. Then the Lord took me through it two more times. I knew that I had to send the message without regard to how it might be received. When I accepted this, I heard the Lord say, “I am going to make a distinction between my people who obey and those who do not! It will be like the distinction I made between Egypt and Goshen!” My thoughts were led to Exodus 8:22-24a, “’And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the land. I will make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.’ And the Lord did so.” From this point on none of the plagues came upon Israel. This morning the Lord was saying that we have entered another season when His people will be protected from the judgments which will soon come. Notice that the main reason for this is so “that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the land.”
I believe we have entered a season which is calling for repentance and restoration, but many people will not heed these warnings. They will be found wanting and very soon will be removed from their kingdom position. As a result, they will not reach the destiny the Lord has prepared for them. This takes wisdom on our part, and I am praying for God’s wisdom to be released by the Holy Spirit to you and me in this season. May we be wise enough to make the right choices! May we never be found lacking in character! May we never need to be removed from our kingdom positions! May we live in repentance and restoration day by day! Amen and Amen!
