This morning as I was face down on the floor before the Lord I was praying: “Lord I am available. Use me however you want to use me. Tell me what to say and I will say it. Tell me what to do and I will do it. Then I suddenly received a series of visions from the Lord about spiritual warfare. I saw battles from many different periods in history. The dress and appearance of people changed, but the warfare was always the same. It started with hate filled words being spoken into someone’s ear. This was quickly followed by arguments, fighting and separation between the people involved. Seeing it this way made it seem so clear that the enemy keeps doing the same thing over and over. We need to get a lot smarter than this.
I thought about the teaching of Peter in 1 Peter 4:12-14, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.”
Then I heard the Lord say, “These things should not be happening! You have to stay alert and resist every move of the enemy if you want to overcome! You must stop falling for his tired old tricks! In this season, you need to stand together in unity and agreement!” The Lord is calling us into a season of repentance. We need to repent of our failure to understand the times and what we should do. We need to repent for allowing the enemy to use us to speak negative things toward His servants! We need to repent for every accusation we have spoken against the Lord’s anointed people! I remembered the Word of the Lord in 1 Chronicles 16:22 and Psalm 105:15, “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” Lord forgive us! Lord heal our hearts! Heal hurts and restore us!
The visions started up again, but were very different this time. I started to see people carefully moving back toward one another and with many tears and hugs being restored to loving fellowship. Then I heard the Lord say, “This is a season of restoration! It is a season for parents to be restored to their children and children to their parents! It is a time to restore relationship with spiritual children and spiritual parents. It is a season to heal the wounds and draw together to stand against a common enemy!” I remembered the Word of the Lord in Malachi 4:5-6 and fulfilled in the words the angel spoke to Zacharias about John the Baptist in Luke 1:16-17. “And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Are our hearts ready to forgive and forget? Are we prepared for the season of restoration or are we holding on to roots of bitterness? Are our hearts ready to release forgiveness and embrace our brothers, sisters, children, and spouses who are returning to the Lord and to our fellowship?
Then I received one final vision. I was shown a race track as the runners began to cross the finish line. As each crossed the line at different times, I heard a proclamation: “The winner!” Each one received the same acclaim regardless of their speed. As I pondered this, I remembered what Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Can this be said of you and me? I pray that we will be alert and ready for this season of restoration! I pray that we will let go of everything that hinders and be ready to move with the Lord in unity and agreement! Amen and Amen!!!
